Today I decided to change up the routine a little, and did some new ab exercises and also did some running. I didn’t run too far, mainly just enough to get my heart rate up a little and also to work out my legs. To work out my calves I ran mostly on the balls of my feet. It was a little weird at first, but I can see how it should help build strong calves. Even with the running I probably only worked out about 40 minutes today.
The thing that I noticed about today is it is the first day I have had any doubt. It’s the time when you look in the mirror and wonder if you are making any progress. It’s a normal part of starting anything new, especially an exercise or dieting program. By no means am I about to give up. However, the lack of instant reward is why many people do.
Since I have made a declaration online, I don’t feel as if I am doing this alone. If I were to quit, then I would be letting everyone down. If you are having trouble sticking with something you really want to accomplish, then declare your goals to your family, friends, or blog. Then give them updates on how the project is going. This will help motivate you to keep going.
Tomorrow will be the end of the first week and I will be posting pictures of before and after. I am not sure if there will be much of a difference, but this will be a good way to track progress.
